A 78ª edição do Emmy Awards consagrou o drama médico The Pitt e a produção de comédia e terror O Segredo de Widow’s Bay como os grandes destaques da televisão. A cerimônia, realizada na noite da última segunda-feira (14/09) nos Estados Unidos, premiou as principais produções e desempenhos do ano.
Conquistando o topo das categorias de humor, O Segredo de Widow’s Bay tornou-se a produção mais vitoriosa do evento ao arrematar seis estatuetas, incluindo o cobiçado prêmio de Melhor Série de Comédia. A noite também foi histórica para seu protagonista, o ator galês Matthew Rhys, que estabeleceu um feito inédito ao se tornar o primeiro homem a vencer duas das principais categorias de atuação em uma única edição da premiação.
Na divisão de séries dramáticas, The Pitt confirmou a liderança das bolsas de apostas e levou o prêmio principal de Melhor Drama. Contudo, apesar do favoritismo consolidado ao longo da temporada, a produção manteve uma vitória pontual, dividindo os holofotes do gênero sem atingir o domínio absoluto previsto pelos analistas.
